To install the 64-bit version of Meridian Enterprise server components, start the appropriate setup file described in Choosing an installation file. To install the components in silent mode, see Installing the server components silently.
If you started the installation as described in Starting Meridian installation, continue server installation:
On the Specify Program Folder page, specify the destination for the program files. Usually the default folder is adequate. If you want to place most of Meridian’s files on a non-system partition, click Browse and type the desired path or select an existing folder. Click Next to continue.
The minimum configuration for a functional Meridian application server is the EDM Server service and License Server options. If you want to run the License Server service on a different computer than the EDM Server service, do not choose the License Server option at this time. Run the setup program on the other computer and choose only the License Server option. See Running BlueCielo License Server on a different computer for additional configuration that may be necessary.
Select the Microsoft SQL Server Database Driver or Oracle Database Driver option if you will be using either of those systems regardless of the server where the database management system will be located. The correct driver is required on the Meridian server in any case.
Notes
If the Meridian application server will also host Web Access, choose the Web Access option. Internet Information Services must already be installed or installation of this component will fail. The minimum IIS components that must be installed for proper operation of Web Access are listed in Recommended server specifications.
Note If the computer is running a 64-bit version of Windows and Web Access is installed by a 32-bit Meridian Enterprise setup program, set the registry keys described in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\InetStp\Components. In this configuration, the Meridian website must run in a 32-bit application pool. For more information on how to create a 32-bit application pool, refer to Running 32-bit Applications on 64-bit Windows (IIS 6.0) in Microsoft TechNet.
You should choose the Task Server option only if you plan to implement custom server-based processes. For more information about Task Server, see BlueCielo Task Server Administrator’s Guide.
We recommend that you also install the Meridian client components on the Meridian application server so that you can test functionality on the server without the additional complication of networking issues, if needed. Choose only the application links that correspond to applications that are already installed on the computer.
We recommend that you install all of the System administration components.
NEW
The Logon Information page appears next. This account must meet the security requirements described in Granting domain privileges with a service account. For a list of the other resources that can use the same account, see Service account usage.
Enter the user name and password of one existing account that you want the setup program to assign to all of the services and application pools that will be installed. If you are installing additional products to work with an existing Meridian Enterprise installation and you want this account to be assigned to those services too, enable Use this account for the EDM Server and BlueCielo License Server services option. If installed, the BlueCielo File System (AMFS) service is not affected by this option and should always be run under the Local System account.
